Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the United States and Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a TV reporter. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been so since the age of nine. Her ability in this area allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked alongside national producers on shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was later employed to the CBS station to work as a sports journalist. In 2009, the news reporter moved into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was often asked to serve as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she has more responsibility. She produced pieces about MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also hosted the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. The show was promoted to be anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She held the same position as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. They divorced shortly thereafter and her mother remarried one of the naval architects named Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, the younger Collins took a place alongside her elder sister. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, but was already aware of her plans for what she would be doing. It turned out that she loved the campus and they were offering the degree she was searching for. Her studies were completed and she was accepted to the University for a master's degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for many years, became a friend. He was the one who boosted her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for Journalism deeply touched her. She was determined to exceed his expectations, never letting him down.
